State-of-the-Art Assistance

Anyone can initiate a referral by calling the hospice office. Usually patients choose hospice care with their family and physician when it is decided that there are no cures for the disease. Comfort measures and quality of life become the priority. The patient's physician must approve admission to hospice and work closely with the hospice staff as a member of the team, caring for the patient and family. The hospice medical director is available as a counselor physician.
